James, my first memory of you was when you introduced yourself to me and
said " the CICU is special ". I didn't understand the weight of those words at the time. The only weight I understood was making sure the weight of milrinone and heparin were correct on both the MAR and IV Pump.
Whenever I needed help and came to you, you'd say " hey buddy what's up" - you were always approachable and friendly. I've always observed people's bedside manner and I just KNEW your patients loved you by how compassionate and genuine your demeanor was. When you told me your story, I was inspired and knew you chose nursing for the purest and warmest of reasons.
This is my first memory of you and everyone. After that night, I found out ya'll were actually a bunch of WEIRDOS. Can someone pass me the D?, the DIET Cherry Pepsi? Haha jk. BUT ! This was night I understood what you meant when you said " the CICU is special". Throughout this past year, I've seen why the CICU was so dear to you and how powerful the friendships here were. We all miss you James!
